Redwood Run
The Ultimate Biker Party held at Piercy, CA which is about one hour north of Willits. The Redwood Run is scheduled for June 8 to 10, 2018.

Frontier Days
The spirit of the frontier is alive and well in Willits, especially during the lead up to 4th of July when our town hosts two nights of CCPRA rodeo, dances, horseshows, a Junior Rodeo, a gymkhana, a Truck & Tractor Pull, a beef BBQ that serves 5,000, a carnival, and a 4th of July parade on Main Street. Billed as “the longest running continuous rodeo in California”, Frontier Days celebrates our town’s Western heritage.

Roots of Motive Power
Each September to celebrate the efforts of their all-volunteer organization, Roots of Motive Power puts on a weekend of activities to showcase the most impressive pieces of their collection of antique steam-powered logging and locomotive equipment. Steam whistles can be heard throughout town, rides are given on steam-powered trains, and a giant BBQ followed by a raffle and live auction raises money for this uniquely Willits institution. .

Car Show & Community Festival
Memorial Day heralds the start of summer, but in Willits it also heralds the return of the classic cars. Each year, the Chamber of Commerce hosts the Bob Hansen Memorial Car Show & Community Festival under the stately oaks of the Recreation Grove. Car buffs and history buffs will find gorgeous vehicles from past eras vying for bragging rights and trophies. Live music, food and games make the Car Show fun for all ages.

Hometown Celebrations
Held in early summer and fall, these biannual events put on by the Chamber’s Local First committee are a great way to enjoy small town life in the 21st century. Main Street comes alive with activities for kids, live music, merchant booths, street food vendors, and crowds of neighbors stopping on the sidewalk to offer friendly hellos. Downtown shops and restaurants stay open late and for a few hours Willits enjoys the excitement and buzz of a downtown street fair.

Kinetic Carnivale
One part steampunk, one part technological wonder, and all parts colorful, this summer festival put on by the Mendocino County Museum “combines the old and new in a way that is hyper-historical and thoroughly Mendocino”. Attendees are invited to come in vintage or steampunk costumes, participate in handcar races on the train tracks running through town, vie for the finest mustache and beard in all the land, and enjoy fashion shows, kid’s activities, art exhibits, some of the county’s finest food and beverage, and a Grand Ball with live music and dancing.
